The Women’s Club is excited to announce a new fundraising platform for our cancelled annual garage sale. We have created a Buy, Sell, Trade group on Facebook Marketplace to bring together sellers and buyers from our wonderful garage sale community. If you are unfamiliar with this online phenomenon, sellers can post an item (s) for sale locally on our Facebook Group (or additional local area groups). When a buyer is interested, they send a personal message to the seller, they agree on a price. Contactless, porch pick up is very popular, as is cash payment. Some people will choose to pay electronically via Venmo or Zelle. In person sales can also be arranged at a safe public place or your home depending on comfort level.
The virtual garage sale will run year long, with exception to the late spring when we anticipate being to organize and hold the school wide in-person garage sale. This private group will be invite only new members will need to be approved by the group administrator.
As a non-profit organization, we encourage sellers to consider donating back a portion or all of your proceeds to SJC Women’s Club Virtual Garage Sale. If selling online is not for you, but you want to help please consider making a donation directly to SJC Women’s Club via the link below. Additionally, we encourage anyone holding a garage sale to consider donating a portion of the proceeds to the Women’s Club Virtual Garage Sale.
The Women’s Club offers financial support to over a dozen local charities benefiting women and children and financially supports the Fr. Joe McDonnell Scholarship fund, which offers financial assistance to families wanting to send a child(ren) to Catholic High School.
Donations can also be made via check (made out to the SJC Women’s Club - in memo write Virtual GS) mailed to the SJC Parish Center, 5005 S. Wolf Road, Western Springs, IL 60558.
Tips for successful selling:

- Post a quality picture of item

Women's Club Garage Sale - CANCELLED
Given the unknowns with the corona virus, we have decided to cancel our garage sale this year. While we are disappointed to do so, we know that it is the safest decision for our volunteers, our shoppers, and our community. We remain dedicated to the charities that received our financial support from the garage sale each year and we are committed to provide continued support in any way we can during this unprecedented time. We hope to bring the garage sale back bigger and better next summer. Thank you for your support of the Women's Club.
