Rooted In Faith, Growing in Knowledge
ROOTED IN FAITH
The purpose of all teacher catechesis is to call young people to a personal encounter with Christ, form them into his disciples, and help them through participation in the life of the Catholic Church. It is also to help them make a commitment to live as Jesus taught us to live. As teachers in a Catholic school, we are called to be an evangelist, one who introduces children to the Risen Lord and guides them through an apprenticeship in Christian living.
God is present in our lives and in our school community. Religion class helps students come to know God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The students become aware of Jesus Christ present in God's Word, in the Eucharist, in the presider, and in the parish community. They learn to praise and thank God in prayer, in song, and through actions.
OUR FAITH IN ACTION
Students engage in all school liturgies, classroom prayer services, and sacramental preparation in First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
