We have finished our first week of school and I enjoyed seeing everyone! Students received their individual schedules and have started changing classes. They had the opportunity to meet all of the sixth grade teachers and their fine arts teachers too.
Please be conscious of the ‘peanut free’ policy for snacks and the uniform policy. You may want to review the handbook for any changes from last year. Students are able to wear the warm weather uniform (optional) until September 30th. School supplies were distributed and on a daily basis assignment notebooks will go home. Be sure to check their assignment notebook for any immediate updates or assignments. Summer Math Packets are due by the end of the week and there will be a quiz on the content of the Summer Math Packet next week. We have started the first Module (chapter) which introduces students to integers. The sixth grade book is a softcover book that will easily wear out. I have asked students to put it in a three-ring binder to help protect it till June. Thank you for your cooperation with this. Many have brought them in already! Next week Wednesday, August 29th, is Curriculum Night for grades 1-8th. Look forward to seeing you then!
If you have any questions, or concerns feel free to contact me by email. I will try to get back to you at the end of the day. If it is something that requires immediate attention you may want to call the office.
I am looking forward to a great year together and I am thankful everyday to be working with your children!
