April 2019 Newsletter for 5th grade science Mrs. Linehan’s class
Students who are absent have access to their textbook, and all Pearson Realize assignments via the iPad. Please have your child check Google Classroom for daily assignments/announcements.
Parents may check for daily work by using Google Guardian.
Students will complete the study of astronomy the first week of April and we will begin the study of life science.
Chapter 3 of the textbook leads students to explore how plants and animals grow and change.
Lesson 1 – Students will analyze and interpret data that supports that plants use energy from the sun.
Lesson 2 – Students will develop and use models that show the different ways that organisms interact in an ecosystem.
Lesson 3 – Students will investigate how ecosystems change and research how some animals and plants adapt to survive changes to their ecosystems.
Lesson 4 – Students will define a problem relating to human impact on ecosystems and will analyze the consequences of how people can affect the environment.
Students will complete labs, projects, and vocabulary work for each lesson. April will be a month full of interesting learning in 5th grade science class!!!
