At St. John of the Cross Parish we strive to be a parish where everyone feels welcomed and valued as a member of our community. It is our hope that through their participation and connection with us, both parishioners and visitors leave strengthened and filled with the light of Christ, inspired to be witnesses to Christ’s Gospel in the world.
As part of our efforts, we are gifting families joining us on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with a book called The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic by Matthew Kelly. This book was generously donated to our parish for this purpose.
We are looking for parishioners who would like to help us greet those who come to St. John of the Cross for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass. Just a Merry Christmas and a smile will do to welcome the many visitors and parishioners as they enter church. Then after communion, you would help pass out the book to each family.
We would like to have 6 people at each Mass. Come 15-20 minutes early to greet people as they arrive. Go to your same station after communion to pass out the books. At your station you will find a name tag for yourself and a table with the books. If you are volunteering with other family members, be sure to include their names so we have a name tag for them too.
