Youth Catechesis Council

The Purpose of the YC Council shall be to serve the catechists and families of the Youth Catechesis program. Working in close collaboration with the Pastor and the Youth Catechesis Director, the YC Council’s mission is to provide leadership and vision, counsel in the direction of the Youth Catechesis program and advocacy for the catechists, children and families in the program.

YC Councils member’s responsibilities include the following: Initiating counsel and advice for the Pastor and YC Director on issues regarding the YC program, and responding with counsel and advice as requested by the Pastor and/or YC Director. On-going overall needs assessments. Advising on and discussing Youth Catechesis Program goals, and policies. Evaluating the Youth Catechesis program’s success in carrying out the parish and program’s mission.

Members must be 18 eighteen years of age or older, and a member of the parish. A member’s term of service is for three years.

The YC Council meets the first Tuesday of the month except in July and August.
