The mission of the St. John of the Cross Parish School is to provide a dynamic Catholic environment where faith is nourished and knowledge grows.  SJC offers unique educational experiences that foster success, promote unity, and respect the individuality of each student.

SJC tuition provides much of the funding for teacher salaries and benefits, facilities operation and maintenance, technology, and curriculum and instruction.  However, tuition revenue alone does not cover all of the expenses associated with fulfilling the academic and spiritual mission of the school.  The SJC Annual Fund was created this year to raise monies to bridge this gap between tuition revenue and the actual costs of educating a child at SJC.

The SJC Annual Fund is a coordinated campaign designed to raise unrestricted gifts for St. John of the Cross Parish School.  The Annual Fund is comprised of gifts of all sizes from current school families, alumni, parishioners and other friends.  Gifts to the Annual Fund finance immediate operating needs and priorities and enable SJC to maintain and enhance all academic programs.

Specific uses of Annual Fund dollars will include:

• To underwrite curricular programs and materials and instructional expenses;
• To secure technology for student use;
• To maintain the building and grounds;
• To provide overall support of the annual operating budget.

How are Annual Fund donors recognized?

All donors will be listed in the SJC Annual Fund Annual Report.  Donors may choose to be listed as anonymous.

How does the Annual Fund differ from the SJC Endowment?

The SJC Endowment Fund strives to provide a monetary inducement to attract quality teachers and to show appreciation for our teacher’s dedication and commitment to our children’s education.  Annual Fund donations are unrestricted contributions used by the school to fund immediate needs and priorities.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes, donations to the annual fund are tax deductible.  Please consult your tax professional regarding your personal tax issues.
