5th Grade Science News for April
Spring is in the air and that means changes in our weather.
The next unit that we will be working on is Weather and Space. In Chapter 7, we will be learning about The Atmosphere and Weather, Clouds and Precipitation, Severe Storms, and Climate. In the science lab we will be working on experiments that will cover Air Pressure and Volume, Water Vapor, and Air Masses at Different Temperatures.
In Chapter 8, will we learn about The Universe. Lessons in this chapter will cover the topics of the Earth and Sun, Earth and the Moon, The Solar System, and Stars and the Universe. We will work on experiments covering the subjects of The Seasons and Earths Tilt, The Expanding Universe, and How Craters Form.
After each weekly lesson, we will continue to have a Lesson test. The students will continue to receive a study guide every Wed. to help them study for the Lesson Test on Friday. Once we have completed a chapter, we will have the Chapter test.
This last trimester the students can bring in 4 current event articles for extra credit. We will also continue to use TIme for Kids to keep us up- to- date on current discoveries in science.
