School Choir

This year the SJC School Choir is split up into two groups based on grade level that will rehearse separately, but come together for school liturgies and concerts. If your child wishes to join, please return the sign-up sheet by Friday, August 31st. If you have more than one child that would like to join, please turn in one form per child.

Elementary Choir (Grades 3-5)

The Elementary Choir will rehearse on Fridays at 8:00 a.m. in the music room. Students must check in at the office prior to the rehearsal. Rehearsals are mandatory for all students.  Please let Miss Pechous know of any conflicts as soon as possible. The first rehearsal of the school year is on Friday, August 31st.

Junior High Choir (Grades 6-8)

The Junior High Choir will rehearse on Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m. in the music room. This group will sing more advanced music and learn special parts to sing at school liturgies. Students must check in at the office prior to the rehearsal. Rehearsals are mandatory for all students. Please let Miss Pechous know of any conflicts as soon as possible. The first rehearsal of the school year is on Tuesday, August 28th.

Cantors

Students in grades 6-8 may audition to be cantors for school liturgies. These students must be members of the Junior High Choir and must attend ALL rehearsals. In addition to the morning rehearsals, students will also practice about once every other week during their lunch/recess period. If a student misses two rehearsals (unexcused absences), he/she will no longer be permitted to cantor for the remainder of the semester. Auditions will occur during the first week of September.
