Marriage
To begin the process and before a wedding date can be set, we ask each couple to meet with one of our parish priests. While we suggest that you contact us as far in advance as possible, please contact the parish at least six months before your desired wedding date and prior to making any other wedding plans.
To be married at St. John of the Cross, at least one party must be a parishioner or the son or daughter of a parishioner. The couple also must attend Pre-Cana meetings at another parish, or PROMISE meetings at SJC. PROMISE brings engaged couples together with a trained team of married couples who help them prepare for married life.
For complete wedding information, view the Getting Married at St. John of the Cross document.
Couples plan music for their wedding liturgy with the parish Director of Music Ministries, please call our Parish Center at 708.246.4404. Please contact Director of Worship, Jim Clauer 5-9 months prior to your wedding date. You will find information on wedding music in the above link “Getting Married at St. John of the Cross” beginning on page 9. The document, “Your Wedding Music” provides additional music information and suggested music repertoires.
Please call our Parish Center at 708.246.4404 for more information.
